The Whispers.

There is nowhere to hide,
When the dark comes alive;
And it's all in your mind;
And they whisper inside...

[What is offered: denied.]

In each breath that you take;
In between every sigh;
In each fear you can't shake;
Where the whispers reside...

[and the
whispers,
whispers,
echo inside]
...

She stared down her demons - dead in the eyes;
So softly they murmured (such beautiful lies);
They taunted, declaring she must choose a side.
For in light and in darkness her soul did reside...

[deep in the dark, where her monsters would hide]

Behind the masking of dark she wore light;
Her demons - like shadows - were lost to the night.
Though deep in her heart (in a place born of fear),
The darkness would beckon, enticing her near.

In each ragged breath;
Caught between every sigh;
In each little death, where the whispers reside...

[where the
whispers,
whispers,
echo inside]

And she said she did know she was wicked of heart;
The monster within, recognized from the start.
And though she had witnessed, she never did fear;
The darkness that fell, as the whispers drew near...

They beckoned: she followed.
[down into the black]

There was nowhere to hide.
[there was no turning back]

For it was all in her mind, she no longer denied;
The whispers, whispers, that echoed inside...

Beneath My Skin.

I am weakness, I am power;
I am darkness filled with light;
Born of strength, and carved from sorrow...
[I reside in endless night]

In the silence I am haunted, shadows flicker through my mind.
I am falling, I am scattered; in the darkness I am blind...

To the depths in which I hide; to find solace I have tried.
Slowly fading, dissipating, I am lost here deep inside...

Though my heart is made of stone; though it shatters like the glass;
Though these burdens are my own, still I know this too shall pass...

In the dead of blackest nights, in the dark before the dawn;
I find strength and I find power, to this beacon I am drawn...

[amidst the calm within my storm, the abyss that is my soul;
I am frail, I am unbroken, I am shattered, I am whole]

For I am weakness, I am power; I am darkness filled with light.
Carved from strength and born of sorrow...
[in my world of endless night]

Though my strength, it comes and goes;
Though I'm glass encased in stone.
In these cuts where darkness shows;
That this monster is my own.

Though I'm lost and I am cracked;
Though the sorrow fills my soul.
In the dark where I am trapped;
I am broken, shattered, whole...

Underneath the Ground.

 Here in this silence, deep in the dirt...

[a head full of darkness, a heart filled with hurt]

...

The cracks where I've hidden this monster inside;
She waits for me there, though leave her I've tried...

...

 For I am the darkness, enveloped in light;
And I am the sunrise, shrouded by night.
If this be my monster, then I shall not hide;
And I'll walk along shadows, with her by my side...

For our joys and our sorrows we all must embrace;
And the sins and the sadness we'll carry with grace.
Deep in our hearts, where darkness is found;
And our demons are buried, under the ground...

...

So here in the silence, I lie by her side;
    And the dark I embrace, from myself I won't hide...
